By using Color Temp ("the app") at colortemp.app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Color Temp is
Color Temp is a free, browser-based reference tool for understanding light color temperature (measured in Kelvin). It provides educational information about color temperature zones, room recommendations, and light source identification. It is provided by VARØ Industries.
Use of the app
Color Temp is free to use for personal and commercial purposes. You may:
- Use the app freely for personal or professional lighting decisions
- Share links to the app
- Reference the information in the app in your own work
You may not:
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the app as your own product
- Use the app in any way that violates applicable laws
- Use automated tools to scrape or misuse the service
Accuracy disclaimer
Color temperature information, Kelvin-to-RGB conversions, and room recommendations provided by this app are for general reference and educational purposes only. Actual light appearance varies significantly based on CRI, fixture design, room color, and perception. Always verify specifications with your specific products and test lighting in your actual space before making purchasing decisions.
VARØ Industries makes no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy or completeness of information in this app.
No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VARØ Industries is not liable for any damages arising from your use of or reliance on Color Temp, including but not limited to incorrect lighting purchases, misidentified color temperatures, or any other decisions made using this tool.
Intellectual property
The Color Temp app — including its design, code, and content — is owned by VARØ Industries. The Kelvin-to-RGB algorithm used is based on published research by Tanner Helland and is used under its permissive terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
